We are currently looking for an Integrated Solutions Web Developer Intern (P/T)

Position Summary:  

The Integrated Solutions Web Developer for Hatteras Press will be a skilled Web Developer who will be responsible for developing and/or designing web solutions for the company. You will be working alongside a team of other developers in creating, maintaining, and updating our web solutions.

For you to succeed in this role, you will need to be proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, and have solid knowledge and experience in programming applications.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Researching, designing, implementing and managing web-based software programs
  • Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications
  • Writing and implementing efficient code
  • Determining operational practicality
  • Developing quality assurance procedures
  • Deploying software tools, processes and metrics
  • Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
  • Working closely with stakeholders to build solutions

Required Education/Experience
  • A technical background and a BS degree in the following subjects is required:
      • Computer Science
      • Software Programming and Development
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a software development role is required
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new technology
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities at any given time
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks – Laravel and MVC design patterns experience is a plus
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming
  • Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and their declarative query languages
