SUMMARY
The Prepress Quality Control associate is responsible for ensuring the quality of proofs in the pre-press department.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow SOP to quality check customer proofs before they are sent out to customer
    • Cut down and assemble proofs
    • Properly mark proofs to indicate downstream finishing needs
  • Quality check press forms while pressroom is making ready
  • Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
  • Maintain a record of quality issues and keep manager informed of issues
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned work area
  • Performs other assignments as business needs required or as directed

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Formal post-secondary graphic communications training in the various types of computer software used in Electronic Prepress
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the Graphics trade
  • Offset and/or Flexographic printing experience
  • Experience with the Macintosh platform utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign files
  • Ability to interact with external customers to solve graphics problems and troubleshoot art files
  • Ability to function in highly technical, team environment under high stress, tight deadlines and interruptions
  • Ability to learn new equipment and procedures quickly and easily pass on this knowledge to others
