We are currently looking for a
 

SUMMARY
Purchasing Agent shall be responsible for purchasing & coordination of materials to multiple locations of the manufacturing facility in a timely & cost efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Improve purchasing as it relates to our net profit.
  • Improve purchasing procedures in conjunction with our receiving procedures to ensure proper receipt of all materials purchased.
  • Act and dress in a manner becoming of a business professional
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Purchase all materials: Work in process & Non work in process.
  • Review stock requirements from our current inventory prior to purchasing.
  • Determine an acceptable substitute from company inventory if applicable,
  • Confirm with (Production/Management) if substitute is acceptable.
  • Establish & maintain acceptable inventory levels as dictated by CFO.
  • Supervise & help reconcile monthly inventory.
  • Timely invoice approval of all materials purchased.
  • Coordinate purchased materials in accordance with all work in process/manufacturing schedules. (Press schedules/Individual job related schedules).
  • All purchases must be made in accordance with budgetary guidelines from estimates as well as client specifications – (i.e. directed buys).
  • Timely communication in the event of required materials being delayed from original schedule.
  • Make suggestions/Inquiries for materials not available when required for a specific project or need.
  • Interact with scheduling and shipping on delivery requirements.
  • Communicate with planning and customer if received material does not conform to planned requirements.
  • Assist estimating a required by CFO

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years purchasing experience in print industry
  • Experience with Estimating, Costing, Planning
  • Must be a self-starter capable of managing multiple projects with conflicting priorities
  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • Must have very strong written and communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
