Hatteras has an immediate opening for a Wide Format  Finishing Operator (2nd or 3rd shift).

Position Overview:
The Wide Format Finishing Operator is responsible advanced general and specialized wide format color printing and finishing work utilizing a solvent and aqueous inkjet printers, laminator, mounting, cutting and folding machines. Oversee the operation of production tasks and job preparation/submission and/or color workflow tasks for assigned equipment. Perform mounting laminating and finishing functions. Ideal candidates must have experience in wide format color print and finishing operations and a positive attitude. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing department job tickets, managing workflow to ensure all orders are completed on time, and consistently meeting customers’ expectations while maximizing machine efficiency.
• Producing rigid and roll signs and banners, custom finishing including lamination, mounting, and trimming.
• Properly using and maintaining all department tools and equipment, managing machine logs.
• Preparing large format signs, banners, and display graphics for shipping and delivery; creating custom packaging when necessary.
• Perform work with a flatbed printer and cutting equipment.
• Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
• Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specifications, colors, and color sequences.

Special Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Hands-on, wide format cutter/laminator experience
  • Setting and adjusting cutter/laminator speeds, cutting/router blades, etc. to obtain maximum output of device
• Knowledge of wide format substrates (materials) and laminates
• Ability to examine and comprehend job orders and corresponding work instructions
• Understanding of acceptable wide format print quality
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Attention to detail, production oriented, possesses problem-solving skills, self-driven, a team player
